HOUGHTON-LE-SPRING REMEMBERED

We all have precious memories of growing up and living in Houghton-le-Spring and the surrounding district.

This collection of memories has been compiled by local historian Paul Lanagan and is a worthy companion to the many photographs in the Houghton Heritage Society archive; the memories help to bring the images alive, giving us personal insights into the locations and occasions.

Indeed, memories are even rarer than photographs and it is vitally important that they are written down and recorded for posterity.

If you have photographs, memories or information that you would be happy do share, please get in touch on the CONTACT link above.
