Houghton Heritage Society holds many events throughout the year with our main exhibitions taking place during the ancient festival of Houghton Feast.
We contribute to the Sunderland Heritage Forum's Local History Month in May plus the free Heritage Open Days event in September where we put on the Houghton Heritage Walk, exhibitions and talks. One of our most popular events is the Haunted Houghton Walk - the allocated spaces tend to go quickly!
You can often find us at Yesterday Belongs To You; Gentoo's Family Fun Days; and local craft fairs where we sell our books, booklets, calendars, badges and Christmas cards.
Many of our events between 2014 and 2019 will be commemorating the Great War Centenary.
